Day 2 of the WCSG saw me floating around Shumway lake in a Zodiac for the Canoe/Kayak k1 , c1 , k2, c2, k4, c4 mens and women’s events. I also spent some time at the Tournament Capital Centre shooting some athletics. Fantastic day.

I suppose theres just something a little ‘too’ cliche about the cowboy riding into the sunset; but tonight it happened. It was an absolute pleasure to take Danny and Ashley’s engagement photos. These two, along with their beautiful daughter Addy, brought their own sunlight with them on a day that started out looking pretty miserable. I had even called Ashley earlier in the day to ask if she wanted to potentially reschedule due to weather. Boy am I glad we didn’t.

I don’t think I will ever get tired of that early morning Tim Hortons double double that has become synonymous with a wedding day. After all the preparation is done, the drive, the – “Are all my lenses here? Do they all have their filters, other filters, caps, cloths? Where are my flashguns, strobes, stands…I knew I put that dress shirt in the dryer…no I didn’t..time to frantically iron” moments, that coffee is the final step that tells us “this is it, time to make some magic”.
Ashley and Chad are the type of people that make you feel like you’ve known them for years. I quickly realized after meeting their families, that this wasn’t a generation specific trait. A more welcoming group of people I have yet to encounter. Thank you for having us as part of your special day Ashley and Chad!
